Treatment
C.P.A.P. Therapy

Continuous Positive Airway Pressure (CPAP) therapy is the most effective treatment for OSA.

If well managed, CPAP therapy can dramatically improve the quality of life. Feel the effects of CPAP:

  • Increased energy levels and decreased sleepiness
  • Restored memory and ability to concentrate
  • Improved mood and mental health
  • Improved cardiovascular health

CPAP works by delivering pressurized air to the airway. This air pressure acts as a pneumatic 'splint', effectively pushing against the throat tissues and keeping the airway open during sleep.

CPAP is delivered to the airway (throat) through the nose or the mouth by a mask that is connected to a silent air compressor - CPAP machine. The amount of air pressure provided by the CPAP machine is set according to a prescription from your sleep specialist.

Asleep with CPAP

Health benefits of CPAP therapy are:

  • Breathing becomes regular and snoring stops
  • Blood oxygen level returns to normal
  • Blood pressure decreases
  • Reduced incidence of heart problems and stroke
  • Restful sleep is restored
